Ryan has been active in wrestling for over 12 years, kickboxing for two years. He has been training mma at Hanover for 3 1/2 years now, winning two championships. According to the International Sport Combat Federation poll for 2010 Ryan is currently ranked 19th out of the top 80 amatuer bantamweights in the nation.
 
Current Operation Octagon Bantamweight champion as well as the Total Cage Combat Bantamweight champion, and Gladiator Fight Club
