Customized nutrition, protein shakes, bars etc. You wouldn't wear gloves that don't fit, would you? Why feed your body stuff that doesn't fit?  What works for you?

It just depends for that day.
Mostly, if I weren't going to be doing anything heavy (i.e. rigorous cardio or lifting) I try to stay away from too many meats for the day. Lean meats are good for you, definitely, but if you eat an amount that's disproportionate to your lifestyle, then it back fires.

So what I do is on days I'm not working out or fighting, I stick to small meals throughout the day and stay away from meats if I can help it. Say Monday I'm not doing Judo or anything else, I'll eat small meals (almost equivalent to snacks) and save meats for dinner, and only have it in small amounts. For days I work out, I eat a hearty breakfast that usually is two eggs with a small amount of milk, two slices of bacon, and cottage cheese with fruits. After workouts I grab a milkshake with protein or trailmix because that usually satisfies my body's need for protein and such.

I try to stay away from grains unless, like I said before, I know I'm going to burn it off later.
